Meet the team

Tim Rowland-Jones (Managing Director) started delivering homecare in Bristol in June 2014, having acquired the Business from a previous owner.  His focus is to help support customers in the area to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.

Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is my absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.

Gabriella Duval

Gabriella is a Recruitment Manager for Bluebird Care Bristol.

Callan Nolan

Recruitment Administrator

Having started as Assistant to the Registered Manager, Callan naturally progressed to supporting every stage of the recruitment process. He notes, "Recruitment naturally suited my strengths; I have strong understanding of our core values and this informs my ability to identify future Bluebirds. I help our applicants join the Bluebird Care family and take great pride in helping them do so efficiently, smoothly and effectively."

Callan continues, "It is a joy to watch our newest Bristol Bluebirds develop throughout the induction process. Claire, Gabby and I are rooting for our inductees to thrive and flourish! Knowing I played a part in their journey is fantastic when I watch them achieve their aspirations."

On the weekends, Callan can be often be spotted at Aspects Leisure Park taking in a film or bowling with friends.

Keely Wood

Care Coordinator

A long-serving, deeply passionate Bluebird, Keely has the best interests of our customers and carers at her core. With almost a decade in the care industry, Keely knows what it takes to deliver industry-leading support. She is renowned for her herculean rostering efforts, moving mountains to accommodate last-minute customer and carer requests when possible.

She says, “I ensure as many Bristol and Bath locals get the area’s finest care and support and work hard to say YES as often as possible to our new enquiries! Giving local people the opportunity to stay at home, surrounded by their memories and comforts, is what we do at Bluebird Care.” When asked for her favourite memory of care, Keely happily recalls a customer whose eyes sparkled mischievously when she walked into the room… “He would regularly joke with his wife to ‘Give the maid a tip!’ He worked his way into my heart and has never left.”

A lifelong Bristolian, Keely is happiest at home, surrounded by her family and friends and says she wouldn’t live anywhere else!

Chelsea Grinnall

Assistant Care Coordinator

With five years in care, Chelsea has progressed from Care Assistant to Care Coordinator, supporting customers and carers. She joined Bluebird with a view to expanding her knowledge and career in care under Registered Manager Claire Nolan’s supervision. “In my previous role, there was no room for progression but since joining Bluebird I can see there is a career pathway here for me. Everyone is amazing to work with and there is such fun in the office. Rostering is difficult work, but we find happiness in every phone call!”

Her desire to work in home care was kindled when her grandfather passed away in a care home. “Seeing how he was treated made me certain that I wanted to work to help stay safe and happy at home. Home care and live-in care are far more person-centred. The caring, professional relationships built between the team and our customers are inspiring.”

Chelsea Bristol's Hartcliffe area, saying, “The loveliest people live in Hartcliffe. It has a special place in my heart.”

Theresa Higgs

Lead Care Manager

Theresa brings over two decades of professional care experience to her customers having started her journey as a Care Assistant. She deftly manages our Bristol customers’ most exacting requirements whilst supporting their carers to deliver safe, high-quality home and live-in care. Theresa’s favourite part of being a Care Manager is meeting her customers in their homes and bringing new suggestions for their support that change their lives for the better. She says, “I’ve been in care for 24 years so there is much I can suggest to improve my customers’ lives. I thoroughly enjoy that part of the job!”

Her favourite memories of care include supporting her own father and being summoned one afternoon by a customer for a very special audience. Theresa was happy to conduct a last-minute visit for the customer who then passed the following morning. She notes, “That last visit was so special. I will treasure it in my heart forever.”

In her spare time, Theresa loves exploring Bristol with her young grandchildren.

Jace Baines

Assistant Care Manager

Bluebird Care’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador Jace brings four years of care to his customers. Originally hailing from South Africa, Jace joined care with the goal of pursuing a degree in nursing. Once he started in care, he says, “Everything I loved about the prospect of nursing was available to me immediately in care. I started my career in a Bristol nursing home where the experience was so poor, I left residential care and discovered Bluebird. The past two years have shown me that home care is where my heart is! Helping people to stay safe and happy at home with tailored support is a great privilege.”

When asked what he loves about his role, Jace notes, “I am effectively a care concierge – liaising with District Nurses, GPs, family members, and of course our beloved customers to ensure they can access the very best care in Bristol. But my favourite part of being an Assistant Care Manager is watching our customers thrive and go from strength to strength with our support. I had a customer who couldn’t walk and who was terrified to be alone. Watching them slowly, over time, become completely independent is a career highlight! Restoring dignity, independence, confidence, ability… these small, happy memories build up over time and fill my heart.”

His favourite part of Bristol is the city centre. “It’s vibrant, the social life is brilliant, and it’s a place to connect with friends and experience brilliant live music. I love supporting my customers to access our great city.”
