Bluebird Care Lewes, Brighton and Hove team Pier to Pier Walk smashes fundraising target for local charity

Published: 12/07/2019

We are thrilled to advise that we have raised just a little over £500 for the charity The Martlets Hospice. This is double our anticipated target.

28 miles and £500 raised!

It simply doesn’t feel like a week ago that we undertook our epic walk in support of the local Charity The Martlets. We are still in shock at how much determination the team had to complete the challenge.

We had 8 walkers in total: Gary, Harriet, SJ, Alex, Myriam, Fiona, Tracy and Jack. The walk was completed in 11 hours, was 28 miles long which is just shy of 60,000 steps!  Whilst the scenery was beautiful, we do live in a gorgeous part of the country, some of the terrain was pretty challenging - particularly over the Seven Sisters.

As well as our walking team, we had Louise and Christine manning the offices, supporting our carers and customers for the day. Karen and Michelle supported as ‘road support’.

We are thrilled to advise that we have raised just a little over £500 for the charity The Martlets Hospice. This is double our anticipated target. Please see the link below for fuller details.

Thank you to everyone who donated, friends, friends of friends, family members and Bluebird Care colleagues to help achieve this amount.

Well done, everyone, an amazing effort and one to be very, very proud of!
