Meet the team

Bluebird Care (Brent) a family business set up by Munjal & Prafula Joshi, Chaitan Joshi and Ushma Joshi with ambitions to provide home care the right way. Both Munjal and Prafula had experienced the drawbacks of the larger care companies and were determined to establish a company with a personal touch. Bluebird Care (Brent) has grown as a company, gaining a reputation for our commitment to quality and ‘good old fashioned service’ at home. 

Our philosophy is about building a closer relationship within the community by interacting with our customer’s; this way we get to know and develop a personal relationship. We passionately believe in the importance of continuity in care and we take many measures to ensure that the same care worker visits every day, and that there is a Dedicated Care Manager to oversee the care plan.

Prafula's Story

Prafula started off as a care worker at a large care company and worked herself up to be a care coordinator, but became frustrated with the way things were run. She could see inefficiencies and vast problems that made consistency of care difficult to provide. Determined that a home care company could do better she obtained all the necessary leadership and care management qualifications and founded Bluebird Care (Harrow) in 2007. Due to the great reputation she had built in Harrow she decided to open her second franchise (Brent) in 2012 to follow in the footsteps.   

We recognise that each person is valuable and unique with his and her own purpose, personality and history.

Munjal's Story

Munjal has a background in Business and Entrepreneurship, having worked for a number of start-ups and big companies including running his own shop. However, through his family he had personal experience of the poor level of care delivered and along with Prafula he passionately believed that care could and should be done better.

The package of care is specifically tailored to the needs of our customers and this is reviewed frequently to ensure it continues to meet the person’s needs.

Chaitan Joshi


Chaitan, Munjal and Prafula's son, has been a member of the Bluebird Care (Harrow)’s team since it first opened. He was introduced to the care industry by both his parents at a young age. Working closely with his mother Prafula he has gained first-hand experience and has learnt the majority of his skills and obtained the knowledge of how to run a busy day to day care business. 

Chaitan is qualified in CMI Level 4 NVQ in Leadership and Management for Care Services and holds a Bsc Honours degree in Computer Science. Chaitan is also a registered care manager with the Care Quality Commission.

Nothing is more important than helping people live their full, independent, dignified lives within the comfort of their own homes.

Ushma Joshi

Registered Care Manager / Director

Ushma, Munjal and Prafula’s daughter, has been a member of the Bluebird Care (Harrow)’s team since it first opened in 2007. She was also introduced to the care industry by both her parents at a young age. Working closely with her mother and brother she gained first-hand experience of running a busy day to day care business. Now with a broad range of experience in the care industry Ushma is the care manager for Bluebird Care (Harrow). 

Ushma is qualified in Level 5 in Health and Social Care and holds a BSc Honours degree in Media Business, Ushma works very closely with her brother Chaitan who are both responsible for managing both Bluebird Care (Harrow and Brent).

People with dementia are still people who still have stories and character, they are all individuals.. They just need to be interacted in a human level.

Rakhi Patel

Registered Care Manager

Rakhi moved to London and started working in the care industry as soon as she turned 18 as a care worker. She joined Bluebird Care in 2014 as a Care Assistant. We noticed that Rakhi had a lot of experience and potential in the care field that we promoted her to a Care Coordinator working in the office, again in 2015 Rakhi had been promoted to Care Supervisor role for Bluebird Care. After demonstrating her commitment an loyalty to Bluebird Care and the vast knowledge gained working in this industry, Rakhi was offered the role as the New Registered Care Manager for Bluebird Care (Brent).
Rakhi’s role as the Registered Care Manager is being responsible of the day to day running of the business, managing the care assistants, office staff as well as dealing with customers on a daily basis. Focusing on  recruitment and retaining new care staff, ascertaining that there is enough care staff to satisfy the needs of the business.
Rakhi has successfully completed her NVQ Level 3 and is now currently working towards her NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.

I have always wanted to work in the care sector since I was 14/15 years old. I believe in helping the customers when they are at their most vulnerable, it is important and ensuring they receive good quality care.

Emma Brogan

Compliance and Recruitment Manager

Emma joined Bluebird Care in August 2014 as an Office Administrator, in January 2016 Emma was promoted to Recruitment & Compliance Manager. You can often see Emma out in the community attending Recruitment Fairs and working with Local Employment Agencies and Job Centres to assist with recruiting Care Assistants. Emma also manages the Compliance of the offices, ensuring Care Plans, Supervisions and other Office documentation are compliant to Franchise Support, CQC and Local Authority Standards.

She has over 15 years administrative experience and completed an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and IT. She has recently completed a QCF Level 4 in Leadership and Management and now intends to complete her Level 5 in Leadership and Management - Health & Social Care.  Emma has previously worked in the Legal Sector and for Government agencies, this experience has helped Emma make the smooth adjustment to working within the Health and Social Care Sector.

I made the move into the Care Sector, after experiencing an illness within my family, as I wanted to be able to bring the experience I have to a company who ensured that vulnerable people received the best care they deserved and I believe that here at Bluebird this is what we offer.

Kanu Kotecha

Accounts Manager

With over 10 years' experience in all aspects of accounts and finance, Kanu joined our team at Bluebird Care in July 2015. He is a fully qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. Kanu's role includes invoicing, payroll and customer advice around the financial aspects of care.

He enjoys working in the busy, but friendly environment and a popular member of the Bluebird Care team.
