Meet the team
Bluebird Care Bradford South is led by Shabir Hussain. Shabir started delivering homecare in Bradford to help support customers in the area to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is Shabir’s absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.
Making a contribution in the local community has been my personal aim both in paid employment and as a volunteer.
Before Bluebird Care I worked for a housing charity for over 16 years. Giving a house to a family living in unsuitable housing/ bed and breakfast is hugely satisfying. The impact it has on the whole family is immeasurable and impossible to describe - especially the difference it makes to children's lives.
Just as with the housing charity; the care Bluebird Care provides has a huge impact on our customers' lives. Bluebird Care provides care that I would want for my own mother, father or family members.
Bluebird Care employs colleagues who are passionate about providing care. We empower them through good training and by giving them freedom to make decisions.
Bluebird Care customers maintain their independence because they have complete control of the care they receive.
Outside of Bluebird Care I do voluntary work for:
Rotary – as a member I help to fundraise for local good causes as well as helping at local events.
Venture Housing Association – housing associations make a huge difference in their local communities. I am a Board Member and Chair of Corporate Services Committee.
Halifax Opportunities Trust – this is local redevelopment agency. It provides support to local businesses, delivers employment initiatives as well as training designed to increase people’s skills and confidence to find employment. I am a Trustee of the charity.
I joined Bluebird Care 5 years ago as a care worker when they first started operating.
Whilst working as a care worker I was given the opportunity to achieve my NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
After being with the company for 6 months a supervisor position became available which I applied for and was successful .
Whilst working as a care supervisor I completed my NVQ Level 3 in business management and completed various courses including train the trainer in Moving and Handling and Medication.
After 3 years working at Bluebird Care a managerial position became available, the previous qualifications I had gained working for Bluebird Care enabled me to apply for this position I was successful and gained my CQC Registration and became registered manager for Bluebird Care Bradford South.
I really enjoy working for Bluebird Care; they have been really supportive from the time I started working for them.
I have been given the opportunity to gain numerous qualifications which have enabled me to progress in my career over the past 5 years and I am really thankful to them for all the support and guidance I have received.
