In this episode of The Family Carer Podcast we’re joined by the founder of In Jolly Good Company.  In Jolly Good Company exists to help alleviate the physical and mental issues caused by loneliness and isolation. They are a dementia-friendly organisation and work with all ages to bring friendship, joy and a sense of community to older people living in Dorset.

  • Jolly Days Wimborne St Giles (Village Hall) – we meet on the first and third Monday of the month for a delicious homemade lunch, cooked by The Friendly Food Club, this is then followed by a varied programme of entertainment finished with Tea, cake and biscuits. https://www.injollygoodcompany.com/jolly-days 
  •  ‘Step Outside’ - is an allotment gardening group at Kingston Lacy. This is a collaborative project involving the National Trust. You don’t have to know anything about gardening to join in, our wonderful gardener Anni is always there to guide us. If hard work is not your thing, you can come along to relax in the beautiful setting, chat with friends and enjoy other activities provided.

  • Jolly Days - are also held at Blandford (Woodhouse Gardens), Wimborne (Museum), Shaftesbury (Royal British Legion Hall) and West Moors (The Guide Hall), we enjoy regular visits from a variety of local musicians, singers, artists and craftspeople. We always stop for tea and biscuits at all our Jolly Days.
