Two Staffs at Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North have this week mixed with royalty at Buckingham Palace, following their heroic work in the health and social care sector.

Hira Butt and Amanda Powell, Care Coordinator and Lead Care Assistant respectively, helped earn Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North recognition within the sector, with victories in the Leaders in Care and Great British Care Awards.

Both Hira and Amanda help to deliver premium home care services throughout the Birmingham community, including home visits, live-in care, companionship and complex care plans.

And their collective successes recently earned an invitation and trip to Buckingham Palace, home of the Britain’s reigning Monarch.

Over the course of each year, The Queen welcomes guests to spend an afternoon in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Garden Parties are an important way for The Queen to speak to a broad range of people from different walks of life, all of whom have made a positive impact in their community.

A long-established network of sponsors is used to invite guests, including Lord-Lieutenants, Societies and Associations, Government Departments, Local Government, the Services, the Church and other Faiths.

Hira Butt, Care Coordinator at Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North, said:

“It was both an honour and privilege to have the opportunity to attend Buckingham Palace and meet members of the royal family. Prince William attended with Kate, in what was a truly memorable afternoon.

“Over the past twelve months and throughout the pandemic, myself, Amanda and all of our colleagues have worked exceptionally hard to serve our wonderful customers across Birmingham. I cannot wait to tell them all about it, as many of them love the Queen and our Royal Family!”

Suresh Dakshinamurthy, Director at Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North, added:

“I am so proud of Amanda, Hira and all of our colleagues at Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North. It is a testament to our hard work to serve our customers that recognition is now coming from not only the sector itself, but the Royal Family.

“It is a shame not everyone at Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North could not all attend, as everyone contributed to the achievements in the Leaders in Care and Great British Care Awards. Here’s hoping to an invite back, next year!”
