Bluebird Care NEWS - Amanda Declared Winner at Leaders in Care Awards Ceremony 2021

Bluebird Care Birmingham East & North Lead Care Assistant, Amanda Powell, was declared winner under the category ‘Frontline Carer of the Year’ at this year’s Leaders in Care Awards. Launched by care industry publishers Care Home Professional & Home Care Insight, Leaders in Care Awards recognise organisations that have continued to provide outstanding care over the course of the year. 

The ‘Frontline Carer of the Year’ category, an award that celebrates unsung heroes who have gone above and beyond to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their customers over the past 12 months.

Since joining Bluebird Care as a Care Assistant, Amanda has flourished, establishing herself as a highly valued team member by both colleagues, and customers. Often exceeding expectations, Amanda has consistently displayed outstanding devotion to her role. She is committed to the delivery of high-quality care to her customers, supporting and comforting them and showing incredible empathy, kindness, and dedication unmatched by many. As a result of these efforts, within a year of joining Bluebird Care Amanda was promoted to Lead Care Assistant, an achievement testament to this hard work.

Amanda on winning the Frontline Carer of the Year award “I am still feeling truly amazed to be chosen as the winner for Front Line Carer of the year Award 2021. To think of all the thousands of Great Care Staff that are out working in the community throughout  the pandemic and that I was chose as a finalist and then the  chosen winner felt very overwhelming indeed. The last 2 years have been very tough and when I look back I do not know how we all managed. We all worked together and battled on to please others without ever giving up. We have all had real tough moments and life has become a real challenge in itself every day but we all stay positive and keep looking forward to good times ahead.

 It has been very scary and upsetting through the covid pandemic watching others lose loved ones and losing those we care for. It has been very tragic at times and felt like we were taking on one challenge after another each day . This Award does make me feel like I have made a massive achievement in life and i will treasure that moment. I think we have all learnt by this how special it is to be a Care Assistant by making a difference to peoples lives every day and are proud to keep up the good hard work. and commitment. We have also learnt to treasure the moments we have with family and friends and appreciate good times together.  I would like to thank yourself and Sue for nominating me for this very Special Award. It was a very enjoyable evening attending the Awards ceremony and lovely to meet other committed care workers.”
