Last Monday marked World Alzheimer’s Day, an important opportunity to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while showing support for the individuals, families and carers whose lives are affected. 💜
At Bluebird Care we showed our support by wearing purple ribbons throughout the day. It may have been a small gesture, but it carried an important message — that people living with dementia, and those supporting them, are never far from our thoughts.
For us at Bluebird Care, dementia awareness is particularly important because supporting people to remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes is at the heart of what we do.
Our Care Experts see first-hand how much of a difference patience, understanding, familiarity and compassionate support can make to someone living with dementia. Just as importantly, we recognise the impact dementia can have on families and loved ones, who often need reassurance and support too.
World Alzheimer’s Day is also a reminder of the importance of continuing to talk openly about dementia, increasing understanding and helping to challenge the stigma that can still surround it. 💜
By wearing our purple ribbons, our team wanted to show our support for everyone living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as their families, friends and carers.
It was a simple way of showing something that matters to us every day — standing alongside the people and families we support with kindness, dignity and understanding. 💙💜
