As part of Bluebird Care Bedford’s commitment to providing high quality care we are introducing a number of new key roles designed to develop and train staff as Care Champions.

We would like to congratulate Vanessa Lacey who has been promoted to be our new Palliative Care Champion. Vanessa started with Bluebird Care Bedford in October 2015 and demonstrated a real passion for care and has flourished in the care assistant role.

Vanessa is currently working towards her Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and earlier this year completed a foundation course in End of Life care at St. Johns Hospice in Moggerhanger. She has expressed a real desire to learn more about End of Life care and is looking to start volunteering at the hospice to improve her knowledge on this sensitive subject. Vanessa will also attend further formal training at the hospice to help her develop communication and care planning skills and as our Palliative Care Champion will be helping to design and run training sessions with our staff to pass on the knowledge she gains at St. John’s Hospice.

Congratulations Vanessa!
