About us

Helping you live the life you want at home

We believe good care is about more than providing support. It’s about getting to know you, understanding what matters to you and helping you live life in the way you want. At Bluebird Care Barking & Dagenham, our local team provides high-quality home care that supports your independence, respects your choices and helps you feel safe and comfortable in the place you know best: home. We’re here for families too, offering reassurance when someone they love needs support.

Who We Are

At Bluebird Care Barking & Dagenham, we believe it’s good to be home.

We’ve been supporting people across our local community since 2012, helping customers continue living safely, comfortably and independently in the place they know best: their own home.

Good care starts with understanding the person receiving it. We take the time to get to know you, your routines, your preferences and the things that matter most in your everyday life. From a little extra help during the week to ongoing support at home, we’ll work with you and your family to provide care that fits around your needs.

Our Care Professionals are trained to provide high-quality care with dignity and respect. Just as importantly, they’re there to bring companionship, reassurance and a friendly face into your day.

For families, we’re here too. We understand that arranging care for someone you love is a big decision, so we’ll listen to your questions, talk through the options available and help you understand what support may work best.

What We Do

Everyone needs something different from care.

You may need a little help getting ready in the morning, support with meals or medication, companionship during the day or someone there to provide more regular care. Your needs may also change over time.

That’s why we offer different types of home care and support, giving you more choice over how you continue living at home.

Home Care

Home Care, sometimes known as domiciliary care, gives you support with everyday life while allowing you to remain in familiar surroundings.

Depending on your needs, our Care Professionals can help with personal care, getting dressed, medication, mobility, preparing meals, companionship and other everyday activities.

Visits can be arranged around the support you need, helping you maintain your routines and as much independence as possible.

Live-in Care

If you need more regular support, Live-in Care can offer an alternative to moving into a residential care home.

A trained Live-in Care Professional stays in your home and provides support around your agreed needs and routines. It means you can continue waking up in your own bed, enjoying familiar surroundings and staying close to the people, places and things that matter to you.

Live-in Care can include:

  • Live-in care for individuals – One-to-one support at home based around your needs, routines and preferences.
  • Live-in care for couples – Helping couples continue living together at home when one or both partners need additional support.
  • Short-term respite care – Temporary support when a family carer needs a break, or when extra help is needed for a period of time.
  • An alternative to residential care – Giving you the option to remain in your own home while receiving more regular support.

Complex Care

Some health conditions require more specialist support, but that doesn’t necessarily mean leaving home.

Our Complex Care services support people living with a range of long-term conditions and health needs. We work alongside customers, families and relevant healthcare professionals so that care reflects the support each person requires.

Wherever possible, our aim is to help you remain at home, maintain your routines and continue doing the things that are important to you.

Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease Care

Familiar surroundings can be particularly important for someone living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

Our Care Professionals can provide practical and emotional support at home, helping with everyday routines while getting to know the person behind the condition — their preferences, memories, interests and the things that help them feel at ease.

Palliative & End of Life Care

During difficult times, being able to remain at home can mean a great deal to both the person receiving care and those closest to them.

Our Care Professionals provide sensitive practical and emotional support, helping customers remain comfortable and treated with dignity while also supporting their families.

Parkinson’s Disease Care

Living with Parkinson’s disease can affect everyday life in different ways.

Our Care Professionals can provide support with daily routines, mobility, personal care and other activities, helping customers maintain as much independence as possible while remaining at home.

Reablement Services

Returning home following an illness, injury or hospital stay can take some adjustment.

Our reablement support can help you settle back into everyday life at home, rebuild confidence and gradually regain independence with daily activities.

More Ways We Can Support You

Sometimes it’s the smaller parts of everyday life that can become more difficult to manage.

Alongside our Home Care, Live-in Care and Complex Care services, Bluebird Care Barking & Dagenham offers additional support to help you look after your wellbeing, attend important appointments and continue your usual routines at home.

Nail Cutting & Trimming

Looking after your nails can become more difficult with age, reduced mobility or changes to your health.

Our trained Care Professionals can provide safe, gentle and hygienic nail cutting and trimming in the comfort of your own home, helping you keep your nails well maintained without needing to travel elsewhere.

Blood Pressure Checks

If you need support keeping track of your blood pressure, our trained Care Professionals can carry out blood pressure checks at home.

Whether you need a one-off check or regular readings as part of your agreed care and support, we can take and record your blood pressure in familiar surroundings. Where appropriate, relevant readings can then be shared with your GP or another healthcare professional.

Our Blood Pressure Checks service does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.

Hospital Appointment Companionship

You don’t always have to attend a hospital appointment alone.

Our Care Professionals can accompany you to your appointment, stay with you while you wait and provide companionship and practical support during your visit. We can also support you on your journey home, depending on the arrangements agreed beforehand.

For families who aren’t able to attend with someone they love, knowing there is a friendly and familiar person by their side can bring welcome reassurance.

Care That Starts With You

No two people are the same, and neither are their care needs.

We’ll listen to what matters to you and work with you and the people closest to you to agree the right support. As your circumstances change, your care can change with you.

From help with everyday routines and wellbeing to companionship, Home Care, Complex Care and Live-in Care, our team at Bluebird Care Barking & Dagenham is here to help you continue living the life you want, where you want: at home.

The overall care provided by Bluebird has been excellent from the very beginning. Communication has always been clear and easy, and every carer they've sent has been a great support to my mother. - E.L

Understanding the Cost of Home Care

Choosing care for yourself or someone you love is about so much more than numbers, it’s about feeling safe, supported and understood in the place that means the most: home. However, we know affordability matters, which is why we’re committed to being open and honest about how care is priced right from the very first conversation.
