We are fortunate as an organisation to be able to immerse ourselves in and enjoy the village of Long Crendon. We are a true local organisation as we only offer our care services to people living in Aylesbury and the surrounding towns and villages and our professional team of carers are all from the area.

Who We Are

Led by our owners George Morris, Tania and Michael Hackett, and Care Manager, Sammie Macknight, we are one of Buckinghamshire's most established and best rated Home Care and Live-In Care providers. As a team, Bluebird Care Aylesbury fosters a culture that is selfless and courageous, sharing knowledge and always supporting each other. Every member of the team has an enhanced police check (DBS) and undergoes a demanding and compliant initial skills assessment training before qualifying as a full-time carer.

The care team has continuous learning and development sessions and refreshers throughout each year. They are closely supported, encouraged and continually appreciated by our amazing office team who have over 85 years of combined care experience.

What We Do

We offer a unique service of tailored and award-winning home care visits which range from 30 minute visits to 24-hours a day. We are also one of the most recognised and widely used live-in care providers in Long Crendon.

Many of our customers receive care on a daily basis while others like to start with one or two visits a week and grow from there. We are well known locally for the experience we have around providing high quality live-in and waking night care. On average, 20% of our customer base have permanent live-in and/or waking night care.

What types of home care services do we provide?

We provide visiting home care (companionship, personal care, medication support, respite, night care, live-in care (including couples and short-term respite), and complex care tailored to specific conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, stroke, spinal injuries, MND, diabetes, learning disabilities and more.

How do I arrange care with Bluebird Care Aylesbury?

Just get in touch with our team. We’ll have a friendly chat, answer questions, and aim to understand the needs, routine and preferences of the person requiring care and support.

What is the process after my initial enquiry?

After providing initial information over the phone or via email a member of the customer care team will offer to come and meet you. In most cases our first visit is to complete an assessment at your home or in the hospital if that is required. A detailed care plan is then drawn up and agreed upon before any care can be provided. A dedicated team member will check in with you after the first visit and provide regular support and guidance thereafter.

Can we provide care for people with complex medical needs or conditions?

Yes. Our trained team delivers Complex Care at home for a wide range of conditions, working alongside you, your family, and healthcare professionals to keep care safe, dignified, and person-centred.

What areas around Aylesbury do we cover?

We cover Aylesbury and surrounding areas including Wendover, Aston Clinton, Weston Turville, Haddenham, Dinton, Ford, Waddesdon, Bierton, Cuddington, Chearsley, Brill, Princes Risborough, Long Crendon, Halton, and Oakley.

Is there a set-up fee?

No, we do not charge anything to come and meet you and carry out an assessment. We only charge for care that is provided after a contract is agreed upon and signed.

Is there a cooling off period?

Yes, it's 14 days. You are entitled to cancel the agreement within the 14 day cooling- off period by giving 48 hours’ notice.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you want to cancel a care visit, it is 48 hours notice for all changes. If you want to cancel services all together, it is 28 days written notice.

How quickly can you start care?

We can start providing care within 48 hours if an assessment can be completed and we have availability from our care team. The average length of time from enquiry to starting care and support is 10 days.

Are you regulated?

Yes, we are regulated by the United Kingdom’s health and social care inspector, the Care Quality Commission. We are rated Outstanding. (area dependent)

How do we support customers with dementia care needs?

We provide sensitive, specialist dementia care focused on routines, familiarity, and meaningful daily activities to help you or your loved one feel safe and supported at home. Care is tailored to the individual, with a dedicated care plan that’s reviewed regularly with you and your family as needs change.

How do you ensure quality staffing?

Every new member of our team, irrespective of experience within the care industry, has to complete our extensive training programme and undergo references and enhanced police checks. We occasionally work with professional Live-in care agencies to provide experienced staff for live-in customers. There is a dedicated team that provides all carers ongoing support, supervisions and spot checks and development and training is continuous.

How often do you invoice and how can I pay?

We invoice on a two weekly cycle. Most customers set up a direct debit but you can also pay by bank transfer or over the phone.
