Abuse can be financial, physical, sexual or psychological, or can be caused by neglect. Elder abuse can affect around 500,000 older people across the UK each year. The World Elder Abuse Awareness Day was created to help educate people on how to prevent abuse, or how to get help should they need it.

The wear purple campaign is designed to show the world you care about adult abuse, neglect and exploitation. The colour purple represents dignity, respect and royalty, and this is how we should treat our elders.

Bluebird Care Solihull have raised over £22 selling delicious cakes and biscuits in their office as well as informing people of this great cause. If you would like to donate to this cause please visit the Age UK Solihull website.
