Meet our team of care professionals

Sheree Jenman
Director / Owner

Sheree brings a wealth of professional management and leadership expertise to Bluebird Care. Prior to owning Bluebird Care Leeds North, Sheree was a Quality Manager with the Bluebird Care Franchise Support Centre, providing advice and support to around forty Bluebird Care franchises in the North and East Midlands region.

Bringing with her, 24 year's experience in the health and social care sector in a variety of roles, Sheree initially worked as a front-line Support Worker, Registered Manager and then Senior Manager of multiple services. She worked as a Quality Assurance Manager for a large Housing Association and then started her journey with Bluebird Care working for the Franchise Support Centre before investing in her own Bluebird Care franchise in early 2019.

A career in the social care sector has given Sheree the opportunity to lead a range of services including domiciliary care, care homes, extra care, supported living and day services and has experience of working with older people, people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, homelessness, chaotic lifestyles and children and families.

Throughout her career, Sheree gained vital knowledge of the care industry and understands what excellent care looks like and importantly, the impact that poor care has on the people who receive it.

"Bluebird Care stands for exactly the type of quality care provision that I want to be associated with. I knew the moment I became involved with Bluebird Care that this brand represented the type of quality services that I’m happy to put my name to. Coming from a care and quality background, I self-assess our service on a daily basis and I’m only satisfied with a service that holds dignity and respect at its heart and is good enough for my own loved ones.”

Sheree lives in Leeds and is very proud to be able to bring outstanding quality home care to her local community.

Sophie Bellwood
Registered Care Manager

My name is Sophie and I'm the Care Manager at Bluebird Care Leeds North. I'm honoured to supported people in my home town of Leeds. I started at Bluebird Care as a Care Assistant in 2012 and absolutely loved it. I was promoted to Support Supervisor in 2014 and further promoted to Care Supervisor in 2015. In April 2018 I became the Care Manager. My role is to operationally manage the business, this involves delivering our business plan, supporting my colleagues to provide excellence in care and ensuring we exceed the expectations set out by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission.

I'm so passionate about this company and feel that my experience working my way up the ladder has helped me greatly, in my role as Care Manager. I understand what's needed at every level of this business to make it a success.

As you'll see from my colleague’s profiles, we are a team who have progressed within Bluebird Care. This speaks volumes about our passion for the business. Continued professional development is important to me and my team. I'm so proud of the team we have here at Bluebird Care and couldn’t be happier to be able to represent such a wonderful, caring bunch of people.

Doris
Our friendly office pooch…..

Doris is a three-year old miniature Dachshund and our resident Therapy and Office Dog. She loves to be around people and is a funny little character!

“Therapy dog” is a general term used to describe a dog that is used to benefit people in a therapeutic way.  Office dogs are known to improve mood, decrease stress levels and even improve productivity and we do like to keep busy at Bluebird Care! She’s always a great point of conversation when we welcome visitors to our office.

Did you know?.... that petting a dog for just 15 minutes releases the feel-good hormones serotonin, prolactin, oxytocin and lowers the stress hormone cortisol.

Doris works hard in our business to keep smiles on people’s faces and is available to accompany our Care Assistants on visits to our customers homes or on gentle walks if our customers have a special love for dogs. Many people who require our services have kept their own pets in the past and although they may no longer be able to care for a pet of their own, they still love to spend time with animals.

If you would like to speak to us about spending time with Doris during your care visits, please get in touch with our team on 0113 258 9677 or email us at leedsnorth@bluebirdcare.co.uk.

Oona-Mai Sharp
Area Manager - North & East Leeds

My role at Bluebird Care is to ensure customers receive excellent quality care and support to keep them safe and comfortable in their own homes. I oversee care delivery for customers liaising with customers, our care team and other professionals such as GP's, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Nurses and Occupational Therapists on a daily basis. If any changes to care plans are required, I agree these with our customers and update their care plan. I meet customers at least every 6 months to understand how our service is working for them. I welcome feedback and like to make sure we're meeting the needs and wishes of our customers.

I have worked in care for the past five years because I like the feeling of caring and helping others. I enjoy working with the older generation and hearing about past stories they have, I love the impact I can make on each person life. I also work at a children’s football academy in my spare time, where I work with 3-4 year-olds and really enjoy working there, it's my hobby. In other spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My Grandad and I watch my boyfriend play rugby every weekend and I really enjoy the time I get to spend with him. I also enjoy the cinema and like to go a few times a month. I enjoy watching Married at First Sight, Gogglebox and rugby with my Grandad. (We support Castleford Tigers). My favourite film is Forrest Gump, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get”. One of my favourite places to visit is Flamborough, near Bridlington. I visited here as a child almost every weekend with my grandparents and made many happy memories there. I enjoy listening to podcasts, my favourite podcast to listen to is ‘The Girls Bathroom’. I really enjoy going on holidays and like to go away at least once a year. When I was 18, I travelled around America for eight months and have seen a huge part of it. My favourite place in the world is Sydney Australia which I visited a few years ago. I really enjoyed the culture and the warm weather, even if I did need factor 50!

Maddison Crabtree
Area Manager - West Leeds

My name is Maddison, and I proudly serve as the Area Manager for West Leeds. In my role, lots of my time is spent directly engaging with our customers and their support network, crafting personalised and comprehensive care plans. No two plans are alike, as I firmly believe in delivering care that is tailored and person-centred.

Ensuring the utmost standard of care is paramount to me. I maintain constant and direct contact with our customers, guaranteeing their ongoing satisfaction with the care they receive. Should any adjustments or additional support be required, I’m their first point of contact, ready to provide guidance and assistance. Effective communication with our dedicated care team is also a priority, as I collaborate closely with them to uphold our exceptional standards, offering support and guidance where it’s needed.

Building strong relationships with other professionals in the field is essential to our mission. I actively engage with GPs, district nurses, occupational therapists and social workers, working hand in hand to provide comprehensive support to our customers.

My journey in care is both personal and professional. As a young carer for my mother and with five years of professional experience in home care, support work, mental health, and learning disabilities, I bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to my role. Working in this sector brings me immeasurable joy, as I’m able to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most, offering support and a friendly face when it matters most.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mother of two beautiful girls. Much of my time is devoted to engaging in family activities, from exploring the local park and enjoying fun-filled days at soft play centres, to embarking on exciting adventures together. Our adorable dachshund, Penny, is a cherished member of our family and accompanies us on lots of family walks. Whenever the opportunity arises, we love to go on holidays. Our first family vacation in Turkey holds a special place in our hearts, as it brought us lots of joy and treasured memories.

Jemma Dunbar
Care Coordinator

My name is Jemma, I’m a Care Coordinator here at Bluebird Care Leeds North. I started my role with the company in September 2022. My journey so far has been nothing but amazing and I have been warmly welcomed into the team.

My main aim and goals as a Care Coordinator are to ensure that all our customers are delivered with a high standard of care at the times they request and to ensure that they only have a small team visiting their homes for excellent continuity of care. I have lots of contact with our carers and customers every day and I enjoy this. I love a challenge and I am always excited to help new customers create home care packages that are just right for them and work with their own routine and preferences.

I have worked in social care for my whole career so far, in various community roles from a community assistant to a registered manager. I am at my happiest and most comfortable in a coordinating position. I hold relevant qualifications to this industry and I’m always actively looking to learn and develop, enhancing my knowledge and understanding in all that I do.

In my spare time I love going away to lodges on a weekend (with a hot tub of course) and I enjoy going out for meals and spending time with my partner.
