In what is thought to be an industry first in Scotland Bluebird Care Edinburgh is offering employees full or part-time salaried positions.

Experiencing an increase in demand for its care services, Bluebird Care Edinburgh is actively recruiting new care assistants, to add to their already successful teams.

Operating across the capital since 2008, Bluebird Care Edinburgh has been recognised as one of the foremost and innovative homecare providers not only in Edinburgh, but across the country.

Accredited Living Wage employers and consistently awarded the highest grades from the Care Inspectorate, they have also won a host of accolades for their services.

Director of Bluebird Care Edinburgh, John Perry, commented:

We have a fantastic team of 50+ employees but as demand for our person centred care increases, we are finding recruitment extremely challenging under current contractual terms. There is a negative perception of working in the care industry and this is something which we are looking to change.

“There are different job packages available to carers, from zero to guaranteed hours contracts. To our knowledge, no-one in our industry is offering their employees salaried positions.”

“Through this initiative we are looking for the right people to join our team. People with the right attributes and attitude. We have what we believe are the industry’s highest training standards and all Bluebird Care employees are given full induction training and ongoing professional development with a clear career pathway for progression throughout the Company”.

Through the stability of a permanent salaried position it is hoped that the new full and part-time salaried positions will attract more people to the care sector.

Mr Perry added:

We feel that this initiative is perfect for anyone looking for a rewarding career helping people to live independently and with dignity in their home, and will help us to meet demand over the next year as we aim to employ at least 20 new people into our care teams.”
