Meet the team

Tim Rowland Jones

Managing Director and Owner

Tim’s wealth of experience in business management informs his oversight of Bluebird Care Bath & NE Somerset. Having helmed a multi-channel retail business before opening his first Bluebird Care office, Tim says, “I don’t think many people dream of running a home care company… I certainly didn’t! But when my grandfather’s dementia worsened I became acutely aware of the need for exceptional, empathetic care. This lived experience pushed me to open my first Bluebird Care office and set the high standards we’ve maintained for over a decade.”

Insisting his colleagues are trained beyond industry standard, each Care Assistant is encouraged to develop specialisms ranging from dementia and post-op rehabilitation to Parkinson’s, MND, complex care, challenging behaviour, palliative care and nutrition and hydration. “Our aim is to match each customer to their ideal Care Assistants by personality and expertise. Whilst our customers are at the centre of what we do, our Bluebirds are the heartbeat of the company - their kindness, compassion, and professionalism set us apart.”

As the owner of three Bluebird Care offices across the South West and London, Tim can’t imagine working in any other industry. “It’s an unbeatable feeling, being involved in a local business that changes lives. My father is now receiving live-in care which has been life-changing so I am passionate about providing this service to BANES residents.”

Claire Nolan

Registered Manager

Claire began her journey as a Care Assistant when she was 17, obtaining her qualifications and rising through the ranks to join Bluebird Care 7 years ago. She oversees our CQC Outstanding service, with an eagle eye on quality, customer service, co-productivity, outcome-focused care, carer experience, and continual improvement. Guiding her customers and team through the pandemic, she personified professionalism, serenity, and grace to ensure stability and consistency in an uncertain time.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Claire replied, “Our Customer Forums, Craft Days, customers coming in to support practical training, Carer Focus Groups… making our customers and Bluebirds centre stage and enabling them to have a strong influence on the service makes me happy. This is co-production in action! I truly love the ability to influence lives and spread smiles. A smile can travel the world… I live by this motto.”

Claire passionately mentors her team through their qualifications, encouraging them to reach beyond their grasp saying, “Every Bluebird is nurtured, encouraged and supported to achieve their potential.”

Managing Director Tim Rowland Jones says, “No Registered Manager is more committed or passionate about the care her team delivers. She is first in and last out, available to her staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. She cares deeply about every colleague and customer.”

A lifelong local resident, Claire spends her spare time living life to the fullest with her children and grandchildren.

Lottie Treby

Assistant Manager

Lottie supports Registered Manager Claire Nolan in the day-to-day running of Bluebird Care Bristol/Bluebird Care Bath & NE Somerset. She began her with Bluebird Care 7 years ago, starting as a Care Coordinator. Her industry experience and NVQ Level 5 inform her work which ranges from recruitment, accounts and invoices, coordination, care planning and team oversight, to conducting consultations. A recipient of the Leaders in Care Leader of the Future Award, Lottie was recently identified as one of the nation’s brightest rising stars.

For Lottie, Bluebird’s customers and carers make her work life sparkle. “I worked on Christmas Day last year, so I cooked Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and took it to a customer who didn’t have any family coming to visit. We ate together and toasted Christmas… I’ll never forget that meal.” She also looks forward to another special day in the Bluebird Care calendar, noting, “Our annual Summer Fun Day is the stuff of legend! I love watching our customers, carers, and their extended families mingling and having a day filled with smiles, camaraderie, and special treats!”

On the weekends, she can be found paddle boarding down the River Avon or plotting a trip to London to take in a West End musical.

Cameo Mitchell

Quality Manager

With a professional carer in the family, Cameo followed in her mum’s footsteps and has a career that spans 15 years. In her 7 years as a Bluebird, Cameo has risen through the ranks and is now our Quality Manager, monitoring each care plan’s compliance, safety, and robustness. She notes, “I ensure our team follow the correct procedure and am always looking for new systems to implement to improve our service.” Registered Manager Claire Nolan says of her journey, “Cameo has grown and grown; she is working toward her Level 4 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Her support of her colleagues is extraordinary. She calms the strongest tempests, influencing with kindness.”

Her favourite element of care is auditing individual care plans. Cameo says, “On a granular level, my care plan improvements have an immediate impact on a customer’s life. It’s the individuals you meet that truly change your life. I supported a gentleman with MS and was privileged to see his care journey through to the end of his life. I built such a wonderful relationship with him and his wife who I am still in touch with now.”

Her favourite part of BANES is her hometown, Midsomer Norton. “My happiest memories were made there. It has a special place in my heart.”

Leona Pillinger

Company Trainer

I have been working in the Health and Social Care sector for over 20 years, ranging from an Occupational Therapy and Health Care Assistant, Carer, Senior Carer and Sheltered Scheme Manager, giving me a wealth of experience in various settings and achieving an NVQ 3.

For the last 6 years, I have worked as a trainer. I believe that care is vocational, and it is a privilege to meet passionate and caring people dedicated to providing the sort of service that they would choose for their own families, imparting the importance of providing a professional, person centred service.

We would all like to live as independently as possible, in the home that holds our happiest memories, with choice and autonomy, and I am proud to work for a company that strives to help people achieve this.
