What our customers & staff say about us:

Congratulations on your ‘Small Business of the Year’ award!  Wonderful to have some good news about carers especially with what’s been in the news this week. I’m so grateful my mother can have quality care at home which is where she really wants to be, remaining as independent as possible.”

Jill P (daughter of Jean M)

I’d like to say I am so glad I have Bluebird Care caring for my Mother.  Without them she would definitiely be in a care home by now and not in the home she loves and has lived in for over 25 years.  Your staff and services have been the best I’ve ever come across.  Mum genuinely looks forward to seeing her Care Workers, Sally & Georgina and they really go the extra mile looking after her”.

Bluebird Care Receives a Glowing Report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as it Celebrates its 2nd Birthday

Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) celebrated their 2nd Birthday this month and at the same time have been given a glowing report from the government regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

    21-05-2014

Bluebird Care who were named Winchester’s 2013 ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards were delighted to receive the big thumbs up from the industry regulator.

The inspection that took place at the home care provider’s offices in Winnall, Winchester in December 2013 involved speaking to a number of the company’s customers and care staff.

All the customers that were spoken to were very complimentary of their care workers – one person said they were “marvellous” and another said “we haven’t had a bad carer.”

One person using the service said “They meet every standard I expect of them” and a customer’s relative said “They are very good. They do take good care of my husband. We couldn’t do without them.”

Claire Murphy, Owner & Director said:

We are delighted to have met all the standards the CQC have assessed us against and over the moon to receive such fabulous compliments from our customers - it really was the best Birthday present we could have asked for! Our aim now is to get the same results at our next anniversary and every year thereafter!”

Bluebird Care has now helped over 440 customers to live independently in their own homes in the Winchester, Eastleigh, Alresford and Hedge End local communities.  Owners, Norman and Claire Murphy have now expanded their award winning operation by opening a second office in Alton’s town centre to extend the reach of their services from Winchester right along the A31 corridor to Alton and Alresford’s surrounding villages.

Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director said:

In our 2 short years of operation we have delivered over 82,000 care visits.  We are truly delighted to help people live in the homes they love surrounded by their family and friends and are really proud of our whole team who work tirelessly throughout the year in all weather conditions to take the best care of our customers.

“We are also proud to have created 70 new jobs across the Winchester & Eastleigh and Alton & Alresford areas.  Our award winning home care services are now being recognised by many privately funded customers as well as the NHS and Hampshire County Council so we are looking for new passionate people to come on board to join our team and are looking to create a further 40 jobs by the end of the year.”

Winchester & Eastleigh’s leading home care provider celebrates winning ‘Small Business of the Year’

    21-06-2013

Bluebird Care is delighted to announce that they scooped the top prize at this year’s Winchester Business Excellence Awards as the high quality home care provider was named ‘Small Business of the Year’.

Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) who only launched little over a year ago have really made their mark in demonstrating their professional high quality home care ethics.  In the 15 short months since the home care provider has been in operation the company has won ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in their national Bluebird Care network and now ‘Small Business of the Year’ in the Winchester district.

    Winchester Award Winners 2013

The Small Business of the Year category is the most entered category of all the Winchester Business Excellence Awards so owners Norman & Claire Murphy really were quite literally over the moon to win this coveted prize!

Their win was announced at a glittering celebration dinner and awards night at the Winchester Guildhall on Friday 14th June 2013 where the Bluebird Care office team and Care Workers were present to collect their fabulous trophy.

The Winchester & Eastleigh operation of Bluebird Care was established by local Alresford couple Norman & Claire Murphy in March 2012.  The company now employs 48 staff and is extremely proud to have helped over 200 customers remain independent in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by their family, friends and possessions.

Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) said:

We absolutely love what we do and have such passion for only delivering the highest quality home care to our customers so this award is such an honour to recognise the great service we are providing.  We are so proud of our amazing care team and are delighted that we have brought our full team here to enjoy this fantastic night!”.

Claire Murphy, Owner & Director said:

It is a dream come true for us to win this award and finally put home care in the press and spot light for the right reasons when so often it is only reported reflecting bad practice.

Other home care providers out there coldly talk of ‘service users’  We here at Bluebird Care have customers, customers whom are all very valued and carefully looked after.  We never fail to remember that we are taking care of someone’s Mum, Dad, Grandmother, Granddad, Sister or Brother and will always continue to deliver the kind of care we would want our own relatives to receive.”

Bluebird Care’s aim was to become the best quality provider of home care & live-in care in the Alresford, Winchester & Eastleigh districts, employing local people in order to help and support local people to remain independent in their own homes.

Bluebird Care’s services include helping its customers with a variety of tasks including personal care, domestic help, shopping trips out, assistance with medication and help with mobility issues.  In addition to traditional care, they provide companionship services and consider a game of dominos, a trip to the bingo or helping with the daily crossword as being just as important to improve people’s quality of life.

Bluebird Care’s Care Workers also support people with end of life care in their own homes to enable them to be surrounded by their family and friends at this most emotional time.

Bluebird Care launches new 24 hour live-in care service for Winchester, Alresford & Eastleigh

Bluebird Care today announces the launch of its new 24hr live-in care service.

    21-05-2013

Winchester & Eastleigh’s award winning home care provider set up just over a year ago provides high quality care to people in their own homes and this new 24 hour live-in care service is an extension to their already popular range of home care services.

Based in Winchester, Bluebird Care widely serves the areas of Alresford, Winchester, Chandlers Ford & Eastleigh as well as the most rural surrounding villages/areas.

Bluebird Care’s live-in care service provides people with the very highest one-to-one care service where customers benefit from a dedicated ‘personal assistant’ living in their home to take care of their every need. This may involve all aspects of care (assistance with getting up, washing, personal hygiene etc) and generally ‘keeping house’.  The need may also include shopping or accompanying customers on visits to friends, appointments and generally getting out and about in the local community.  One of the beauties of live-in care is its flexibility.  No two days need be the same and customers can, if they wish, choose a different agenda each day.

Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) said:

Our new 24 hour live-in care service really is the ultimate personal assistant for our customers and promotes our ethos of independent living in the comfort of your own home.  It effectively removes the need for anyone to ever leave the home they love to go into a residential care home. No upheaval, no stress but a care service that works around your individual needs enabling you to remain in your own home surrounded by familiar family, friends and possessions”.

    Norman added:

We take pride in only recruiting the very best carers for our customers and know that this new service will transform the lives of many for the better”.

Bluebird Care’s other services include helping its customers with a variety of tasks including personal care, domestic help, shopping trips out, assistance with medication and help with mobility issues.  In addition to traditional care, they provide companionship services and consider a game of dominos, a trip to the bingo or helping with the daily crossword as being just as important to improve people’s quality of life. • Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) officially opens!

Bluebird Care, the UK’s leading care in the home provider opens in Winchester this week (24 Feb).

    21-02-2012

The office which is based on the Winnall Trading Estate in Winchester will provide tailor made care in the home visits to customers and their families in Winchester, Alresford, Colden Common, Hursley, Sparsholt, Sutton Scotney, Otterbourne & Twyford, Chandlers Ford & Eastleigh, Hedge End & West Meon and intends to create at least 30 jobs by the end of the year.

The Winchester & Eastleigh office is owned and operated by local Alresford husband and wife team Norman & Claire Murphy, both have professional business backgrounds and are delighted to introduce Bluebird Care into their local community.

Norman & Claire together with their Care Manager, Emma Munn are able to deliver personalised care packages providing a high quality service that enables their customers to achieve confident, fulfilling lives in the comfort and security of their own homes.

    Norman said,

Our aim at Bluebird Care is to provide the highest standards of care for our customers. We treat everyone with respect, warmth and compassion, ultimately providing the sort of care we would want for our own family members or friends. I am particularly passionate about keeping the elderly and vulnerable in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes rather than the often bleak alternative of a care home.

We should also remember that there are many people in the Winchester & Eastleigh areas who are devoting much of their time to caring for a family member or friend giving them little time for themselves.  We aim to help these people get their lives back; enabling them to spend more quality time with their family and friends knowing their loved one is receiving the best quality care.

Care at home doesn’t just mean helping people with their personal care or getting them in or out of bed but can also include shopping, sitting services or fun days out.  Bluebird Care’s services range from a 15-minute pop-in service to check whether someone has taken their medication and are in bed safely for the night, to visiting 2-3 times a day for meal time preparation, right up to full live-in support.  Other services include re-enablement following a hospital discharge, respite and end of life care. Every customer’s care package is bespoke to their individual needs and aims to enable them to achieve confident, fulfilling lives in the comfort and security of their own home.

The Winchester & Eastleigh office will add to Bluebird Care’s already strong presence in Hampshire with offices in Basingstoke & Hart, Fareham & Gosport and Petersfield and intends to create at least 30 jobs by the end of the year.  Bluebird Care are always looking for warm, compassionate, dedicated carers to join their growing team, if you would like to have a rewarding career and enable people to live life to the full then please contact Emma Munn on 01962 856 900.
