NEWS
May 2013 - Bluebird Care launches new 24 hour live-in care service for Winchester, Alresford & Eastleigh

Bluebird Care today announces the launch of its new 24hr live-in care service. Winchester & Eastleigh’s award winning home care provider set up just over a year ago provides high quality care to people in their own homes and this new 24 hour live-in care service is an extension to their already popular range of home care services.
Based in Winchester, Bluebird Care widely serves the areas of Alresford, Winchester, Chandlers Ford & Eastleigh as well as the most rural surrounding villages/areas.
Bluebird Care’s live-in care service provides people with the very highest one-to-one care service where customers benefit from a dedicated ‘personal assistant’ living in their home to take care of their every need. This may involve all aspects of care (assistance with getting up, washing, personal hygiene etc) and generally ‘keeping house’. The need may also include shopping or accompanying customers on visits to friends, appointments and generally getting out and about in the local community. One of the beauties of live-in care is its flexibility. No two days need be the same and customers can, if they wish, choose a different agenda each day.
Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) said:
Our new 24 hour live-in care service really is the ultimate personal assistant for our customers and promotes our ethos of independent living in the comfort of your own home. It effectively removes the need for anyone to ever leave the home they love to go into a residential care home. No upheaval, no stress but a care service that works around your individual needs enabling you to remain in your own home surrounded by familiar family, friends and possessions”.
Norman added:
We take pride in only recruiting the very best carers for our customers and know that this new service will transform the lives of many for the better”.
Bluebird Care’s other services include helping its customers with a variety of tasks including personal care, domestic help, shopping trips out, assistance with medication and help with mobility issues. In addition to traditional care, they provide companionship services and consider a game of dominos, a trip to the bingo or helping with the daily crossword as being just as important to improve people’s quality of life. Bluebird Care’s Care Workers also support people with end of life care in their own homes to enable them to be surrounded by their family and friends at this most emotional time.
APRIL 2013 - Bluebird Care shortlisted for ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards

Bluebird Care is delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted for ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the 2013 Winchester Business Excellence Awards. After record breaking numbers of entries to this year’s awards the high quality homecare provider is thrilled to be down to the final four companies in its category.
The Winchester & Eastleigh operation of Bluebird Care was established by local Alresford couple Norman & Claire Murphy, with the care being arranged and managed from their office in Winnall, Winchester. Award winners will be announced at a glittering celebration dinner and awards night at the Winchester Guildhall on Friday 14th June 2013.
Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director of Bluebird Care Winchester & Eastleigh said:
We were over the moon to hear that we have been shortlisted for this year’s Winchester Business Excellence Awards and it’s great to know that our high quality services are officially being recognised. To be down to the final four is just a real honour and we believe it is testament to the amazing team of carers and office staff that we have working for us. Claire, myself and the team are really looking forward to the awards night on Friday 14th June!”
Bluebird Care’s aim was to become the best quality provider of homecare in the Alresford, Winchester & Eastleigh districts, employing local people in order to help and support local people to remain independent in their own homes.
Bluebird Care’s services include helping its customers with a variety of tasks including personal care, domestic help, shopping trips out, assistance with medication and help with mobility issues. We are hosting a recruitment day with the Eastleigh Job Centre. Due to rapid growth, we are looking to recruit at least 30 carers by the end of the year. It will be hosted on Tuesday 26th June 2012 from 10am – 4pm at their branch at Capital House, 100 Southampton Road, Eastleigh, SO50 5PB.
Norman Murphy, Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) said:
Members of the public are welcome to pop in to have an informal chat with members of the Bluebird Care team about what it’s like to work in the care industry and develop a career in care. We pay the highest rates in the Winchester area for Carer Workers and we do that because we only want the best people. In addition to a very respectable salary of around £17,000 per year*, we can offer the highest quality in-house training, with the option to work towards your Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care after a successful 6-months probation.”
Since its launch in February 2012, Bluebird Care has experienced unprecedented growth in the Winchester, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford and Alresford areas. It is therefore actively recruiting to serve this high demand. The home care company provides full training so previous experience is not required; the most important thing they are looking for is a caring, compassionate type of individual, who can drive and has their own car as the job involves visiting customers in their own homes.
*Carers salary is based on a pro-rata rate of working a 40 hour week, with alternate weekends.
May 2012 - Balloon Bonanza for The Alzheimer’s Society
We were at the Sparsholt Countryside Day & the Alresford Watercress Festival last weekend, running a competition to guess the number of balloons that were in our Bluebird Care car.
This was to raise much needed funds for The Alzheimer’s Society during National Dementia Awareness Week (20 - 26th May 2012).

Norman & Claire together with their Care Manager, Emma Munn are able to deliver personalised care packages providing a high quality service that enables their customers to achieve confident, fulfilling lives in the comfort and security of their own homes.
Norman said,
Our aim at Bluebird Care is to provide the highest standards of care for our customers. We treat everyone with respect, warmth and compassion, ultimately providing the sort of care we would want for our own family members or friends. I am particularly passionate about keeping the elderly and vulnerable in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes rather than the often bleak alternative of a care home.
We should also remember that there are many people in the Winchester & Eastleigh areas who are devoting much of their time to caring for a family member or friend giving them little time for themselves. We aim to help these people get their lives back; enabling them to spend more quality time with their family and friends knowing their loved one is receiving the best quality care.
Care at home doesn’t just mean helping people with their personal care or getting them in or out of bed but can also include shopping, sitting services or fun days out. Bluebird Care’s services range from a 15-minute pop-in service to check whether someone has taken their medication and are in bed safely for the night, to visiting 2-3 times a day for meal time preparation, right up to full live-in support. Other services include re-enablement following a hospital discharge, respite and end of life care. Every customer’s care package is bespoke to their individual needs and aims to enable them to achieve confident, fulfilling lives in the comfort and security of their own home.
The Winchester & Eastleigh office will add to Bluebird Care’s already strong presence in Hampshire with offices in Basingstoke & Hart, Fareham & Gosport and Petersfield and intends to create at least 30 jobs by the end of the year. Bluebird Care are always looking for warm, compassionate, dedicated carers to join their growing team, if you would like to have a rewarding career and enable people to live life to the full then please contact Emma Munn on 01962 856 900.
Customer Testimonials
I’d like to say I am so glad I have Bluebird Care caring for my Mother. Without them she would definitiely be in a care home by now and not in the home she loves and has lived in for over 25 years. Your staff and services have been the best I’ve ever come across. Mum genuinely looks forward to seeing her Care Workers, Sally & Georgina and they really go the extra mile looking after her”.
