What we do

Bluebird Care (Wellingborough) support all adults who are vulnerable including older people, those with physical or learning disabilitiies and/or mental health issues. We specialise in supporting adults with learning disabilities and who display complex and/or challenging behaviour. All the management team and a vast majority of the carers have experience working with individuals with learning disabilities in the community.

We offer a wide range of services to adults who are older, adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and/or mental health issues who require help and assistance to live better lives within their home and communities.
Our aim is to enable customers to maintain their independence and stay in their own homes whilst receiving a level of care and support that we would expect for ourselves and families if we were in their position.

We have a robust recruitment process and all workers are vetted with the Criminal Records Bureau prior to starting work. At Bluebird Care we reject more applicants than we accept.

August 2011 - First Anniversary

Bluebird Care (Wellingborough) celebrated its first anniversary in August. They opted to let this anniversary pass quietly and to concentrate on the work at hand.

Carer news: In September Becky Upcraft started working in the Wellingborough office and will be a valuable asset in coordination of the staff team and by supporting the Care Manager.

Danielle recently passed her driving test so we now only have one walker on the team. That walker is Donna and she has dropped three dress sizes since starting with Bluebird Care and has had to have two new tunics to accommodate her ongoing weight loss! Penny has agreed to refund her uniform deposit when she reaches her goal weight!

Customer news: This year we were able to support a young man to move into his first house. The gentleman, who has complex multiple learning disabilities has lived in primarily shared and residential accommodation throughout his life due to his challenging behavioural needs. He has worked hard with his team of Bluebird Care workers to maintain his tenancy and develop skills for independance. A number of our customers have been supported by Bluebird Care to go on days out to the seaside and adventure parks which they haven't done for many years, if at all.
