Specialist Services

Some people require specialist care and our specialist services have been designed to meet these special need as shown below:

Live-in Care

Our live-in care service makes it possible for people who require continued support. With the assistance of our well trained and professional live-in personal assistants, people have the choice of staying in their own home, by having a personal assistant who can cater for all their personal and practical care requirements in a holistic manner.

Dementia Care

For most people with dementia who require care the ideal environment in which to receive this care would be surroundings familiar to them, which in many cases is their home. People are more likely to feel safe in their own home, have no need for re-orientation and probably feel more confident to maintain their independence and dignity. We have a good understanding of the care and support needs of people with dementia and our specially trained care workers and live-in personal assistants are equipped to deliver the required care.

Respite Care

Our respite service may be in the form of an outreach service in a customer’s home or a supported holiday /break away from the home environment, aimed at offering the main carer a much needed break from their caring role. We understand the needs of family carers and we know how to provide the support they need in order to continue in their caring role. In most cases respite care services are planned ahead but at Bluebird Care we pride ourselves in being able to respond quickly to emergencies such as where an informal carer is suddenly taken ill and unable to perform their caring role temporarily.

Re-ablement Care

Many people need a little extra help from time to time to assist them with remaining at home during or following a difficult period. This can be during spells of increased medication needs, following on from being discharged from hospital or continuing on from an intermediate care package. We would endeavour to provide these services on the day of enquiry. This would allow us to ensure that people have what they need at home or to ensure that we are able to make their return home as comfortable as possible. Rebuilding confidence and providing regular reassurance can often provide an increased level of independence and help to prevent increased need for continued care.

End of Life Care

Most people with a terminal or a life threatening condition would prefer to remain living at home. If a person with end of life care needs chooses to have those needs met in the comfort of their own home and it is practical to do so, our trained care staff are at hand to deliver their care as well as offer emotional and practical support as required. The provision of this service offers a choice to people and also supports their decision to stay in their own home.

Our Staff

We have a robust recruitment and training process. All our staff must attend a comprehensive induction program and receive training in Manual Handling, Infection control, Dementia Care and much more. We personally interview all the potential applicants and the successful candidates are vetted with the Criminal Records Bureau prior to starting work. Above all we ensure that all of our carers have a caring nature as this is the heart of everything we do. At Bluebird Care we reject more applicants then we accept.

Customer testimonials

We are genuinely impressed by the high standard of care provided to my mother. My mother received care from 3 other agencies who let us down many times, however the team at Bluebird Care to-date have been very reliable and punctual. Furthermore they are very kind and pleasant to my mother who refers to them as “her Friends”.

From the first call we noticed a professional and concerned approach to the quite difficult care needs. We were particularly impressed with their ability to involve but not pester the family keeping us informed when needed. It gives us a real peace of mind knowing that Bluebird Care do exactly what they promise.

Bluebird Care have been providing care to my mother for the last 6 months.  I would like to thank their team for their input to my mother’s health which has improved significantly due to their hard work.

Our family was finding it very difficult to deal with Dad’s Parkinson’s.  Dad kept himself to himself as communication was very difficult.  However the carers from Bluebird Care have encouraged dad to participate in activities such as chess or cards helping him to become more independent. Thanks to Bluebird Care, Dad’s social skills have improved immensely.
