Here at Bluebird Care we offer our customers the opportunity to stay at home, which means they are in familiar surroundings with friends and relatives around them. No upheaval, no stress and no trouble associated with having to move into a care home. Our care workers can provide support and assistance which enable you to continue with simple pleasures such as a walk, going to the shops, or just spending time in the garden, but most importantly allowing you to live in the home you love.

The people who work for Bluebird Care are the lifeblood of our service. Every person is individually interviewed by a senior member of the team. Every care worker is;

  • Personally interviewed.
  • References (including previous employers) are checked
  • We carry out a check with the Criminal Records Bureau
  • We check with the list for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults
  • Everyone attends comprehensive Induction, Orientation and Manual Handling training courses
  • All staff have either achieved or are working towards NVQ Care qualifications
  • Everyone has regular review and supervision meetings to maintain quality of service
  • Everyone is trained in Dementia Care and medication support


How we help our customers to stay independent

Homecare, or domiciliary care, provides our customers with a full range of high quality services to encourage independent living – allowing our customers to stay longer in their own homes.  This includes personal care, light domestic housekeeping, shopping, accompanied trips out, meal preparation, companionship and assistance with medication, getting up and going to bed. 

We also provide a sleep-in service and a live in care service.  Our home care is entirely flexible and can range from 15 minutes to check a customer has taken medication to 24 hour care, and anything in between, including sleep-in services for night care. In practice most of our care visits are something between 30 minutes and one hour long. Your care plan can be altered to your needs at any time.

Some of the services we offer are:

Personal care

A substantial part of the care we provide involves personal care.  This may involve washing, dressing and assistance with toileting.  Our care workers are trained to provide these services whilst always respecting the dignity of the customer.

Dementia care

We specialise in assisting customers and their families to cope with the demands of all forms of dementia, and in particular Alzheimers. Our trained and patient carers are well versed in coping strategies and can provide in invaluable source of assistance, support and respite for those involved.

Live in care

Our live in carers provide a constant presence in the home which may be preferred by highly vulnerable people and their families.  All Live in care is provided with the same level of supervision and oversight as our daytime care visits, a major source of comfort for our customers.  We also take full responsibility for all employer risks and obligations (employers’ liability insurance, PAYE, National Insurance and Holiday Pay).

Home help

Sometimes it’s the little things that can make all the difference.  Providing a fresh hot meal, clearing the laundry or cleaning the kitchen services.  And sometimes it’s the company that comes with this service that’s most important.  We take these aspects of home help just as seriously as our other areas of care.

Services for elderly customers and those with learning disabilities and physical disabilities

Our customers may be elderly or they may have learning disabilities or physical disabilities.  For all our customers we are there to provide the support needed to stay independent and living at home. 

Live-in Care

You can rest assured that in reading this you have taken the first step in securing the highest quality of live-in-care.  We are specialists in providing care at home, and will be with you every step of the way. We appreciate how important it is that we source you the right care worker as well as the correct level of support to meet your needs.

Our fully trained care workers are there to undertake any personal tasks, as well as helping to maintain independence and freedom of choice in daily living arrangements. At Bluebird Care we understand and treat everyone as an individual and as such every customer has a care package which is tailored to their needs and requirements.

Please see below some key points that make Bluebird Care’s live-in service:

  • Bluebird Care provide consistent cover for our customers.  We will not let you down.  We are local to you and will be able to respond quickly if our carer should become unwell or have a personal emergency.
  • We deal with all PAYE, NI, and holiday payments for our staff, and as from 2014 pension payments so that you don’t have to. Our staff are employed direct by Bluebird Care.  We deal with all HR matters to reduce the risk and burden to you.
  • We will manage the quality of your care closely. You will have weekly contact with our live in care management team and the care worker will be regularly supervised by a local office team member.  High quality care does not just happen – but, If organised correctly, it should appear that way.  Our aim is to take the stress away and make the care of you or your loved ones a positive experience.
  • Our care workers are trained to promote independence, whilst providing plenty of care and support at all times.
  • We promote continuity of care. We provide our customers with a team of 2 main care workers, this will enable you our customer to build up a relationship and rapport with your care workers, and also develop a good routine.
  • Bluebird Care endeavour to closely match our customer’s specific requirements with our care worker’s relevant skill

Here at Bluebird Care we are dedicated to helping people to stay in their own homes in a safe environment, we strongly believe that Live-in care is a direct alternative to a residential home and means that your loved ones can remain in the safety and familiarity of their own homes.

The cost of care is based on an individual assessment and the costs start from £895 per week but may increase dependant on the level of care needed.  Bluebird care charges no assessment fees.

Congratulations to Kelly Cypher for having been promoted to Supervisor.  Kelly becomes our second Supervisor in the Reigate office working with Care Manager Allison Bristow and Lead Coordinator Claire Beck.

Nikki has her NVQ3 qualification and is a very experienced carer and trained Supervisor.

October 2011

We have recently introduced specialist training to meet the increased and critical need for this service.  Care Manager, Allison Bristow, has been trained to provide instruction to care staff in this important area and is now launching our own training programme for carers.

Job Opportunities

Care Workers - Full or Part Time positions available to support people in their own home

Care Workers required to work with a committed and dedicated team that is helping and supporting elderly and disabled people to live in their own homes. We have morning, evening and weekend work across the areas of Reigate, Redhill and Horley, Dorking and Leatherhead, Oxted and Caterham.

We pay a generous hourly rate plus travel expenses between customers. Applicants must live near one of the above towns. Own transport essential.

Experience is not essential as we will provide full training and support.
