Meet the Team

Claire Flavell

Director Of Care

Claire has lived in Shropshire most of her life, getting married and raising her daughter and son here. She started out in care in 1989 to work around bringing up her children and soon found it wasn’t ‘just a job’ but a career and something she became very passionate about.

Claire started working in residential care and moved on to domiciliary care and rehabilitation support working with a broad client group including the elderly, people with physical and learning disabilities before her career took her on to managing an Acquired Brain Injury care service.

Here she gained her ILM Level 7 Diploma in Management. Claire joined Bluebird care in July 2013.


Ceri Eades

HR Manager

Ceri has worked and lived in Shropshire all her life, she is married with two daughters and cares very much about making a difference to peoples lives . Ceri has had a varied career but it has always been people orientated, including working within the Charity, Voluntary, and Public sector before starting with Bluebird Care in September 2014. Ceri cares very much about helping people and getting the best out of them.

Making a difference to someone's day in whatever way is very important to me and I love the saying "life is what you make it!"
Ross Hardstaff

Care Manager Oswestry

 My name is Ross and I am the care manager for Oswestry, I started working at Bluebird Care in February 2017. This is my eighth year working in the care sector, so I have a lot of experience and knowledge that I will use going forward to continue making sure Bluebird care deliver excellent care to our customers.
In the past I have supported adults with learning disabilities in a residential care setting before moving on to work with children with challenging behaviour.
I am very passionate about what I do in my work and home life, so I will be fully committed in making sure Bluebird Care maintain a high standard of care to the customers and to my care team.
Claire Gwilliam

Training Officer

Claire has lived in Shrewsbury all of her life, and only came into care in 2013 when she started as a carer for Bluebird Care. Claire soon proved to the team how passionate she was about making a difference to people's lives. Claire was soon promoted to Shrewsbury Supervisor in 2014, and has since proved to be a very adaptable and willing member of staff. In April 2016 Claire was promoted to training officer for Bluebird Care,  and delivers all training to new and current members of staff. Claire has started her Level 5 QCF in Health & Social Care and hopes to complete this by January 2018. 



I wish I had started working in care years ago, it's been the best decision i've ever made.
Sam Bryce

Care Coordinator

Previously from Gloucestershire, Sam moved to Shropshire two years ago. With a varied career including retail management and bereavement counselling, Sam joined Bluebird care in January 2017 as a care co-oridnator. Having gained a dual honours in Psychology and Criminology, Sam is also currently training to become an Equine Assisted Learning Therapist specialising in Autism and Dementia.

Kirsty Holland

Specialist Care Coordinator

Kirsty started as a care assistant with the company 7 years ago and progressed to the roles of Supervisor, Care manager and after recently returning from maternity leave, she has been promoted to Specialist Care Co-ordinator. Kirsty will develop and grow the Live In Care Services throughout Shropshire and develop our complex care services.


Amie Stone

Bayston Hill & Church Stretton Supervisor

Amie joined Bluebird Care in mid 2014 as a carer. She progressed so well that she was promoted to Supervisor for Bayston Hill and Church Stretton. Amie is a very warm and caring person and would go the extra mile in order to make someones day . She has shown the team how capable she is and has shown her worth between staff and customers. We feel fortunate to have Amie as one of our staff. 



Laura Woodhouse

Shrewsbury Supervisor

Laura joined Bluebird Care in January 2017 to cover maternity leave. Laura has worked in the care sector since 2013 starting in residential care for adults with Autism and Learning Difficulties and then moving onto Childrens sexual trauma services, also in a residential setting. Laura has gained her Level 3 in Adult health and social care and hopes to continue her development in the care sector. Welcome to the team Laura you are proving to be a fantastic team player! 

Sarah Ford

Oswestry Supervisor

Sarah started as an administration assistant in August 2017 and has recently been promoted to the role of Supervisor. Her new role will see her supervising carers and giving support to customers in Oswestry to make sure staff and customers are well looked after and standards are maintained. 
I enjoyed working for the company from day one and my role as an admin assistant saw me getting to know the staff, systems and the way the company works. I knew that the company had an ethos to promote from within so I thought with hard work and the right attitude I would be able to progress.

Daryl Ashton

Care Certificate Supervisor

Daryl joined Bluebird Care in March 2016 as the Supervisor for Shrewsbury. Daryl returned from maternity leave in February 2018 and was promoted to Care Certificate Supervisor. Daryl has a wealth of knowledge in the care industry and has a foundation degree in Counselling. Daryl is competent, reliable and a sound team player. Daryl has a lovely personality and people are drawn to her due to her social skills, calm and measured approach. 

Sammie Milton

Managers Assistant

Sammie joined Bluebird Care in February 2014 as an Apprentice. She completed her Advanced Level 3 NVQ in Business and Administration in May 2015, and was promoted to Managers Assistant. Sammie has just started her Level 5 QCF in Health & Social care and hopes to complete this by January 2018. She has previous experience within the care industry and holds a strong passion for care. Sammie is proving to be a versatile member of staff. 


I hope to progress within Bluebird Care as I feel very passionate about the service we provide to our customers. 


Lauren Adams (Maternity)

Management Trainee

Lauren started working for Bluebird Care in March 2017. Lauren has previously worked as a care assistant in the Oswestry area and has a strong passion for delivering exceptional care. With previous experience working as a manager in the Hospitality and Catering industry, Lauren's previous roles will enable her to mentor and guide our care assistants develop and grow, and continue to deliver a high standard of care. In my spare time I volunteer as a ‘Friend of Rotary’, this provides me with the opportunity to give back to my local community and make a real difference through fundraising for many groups such as ‘The Stroke Assosciation’, ‘Derwen College’ and many more.
I pride myself on being approachable and friendly in everything I do, and it has always been important to me to care for others and assist them to maintain a good quality of life as this is a passion of mine. 
Kerry Blagbrough

Accounts Assistant

Kerry joined the team in October 2017. She has lived in Shropshire all of her life, and is mum to two boys. Kerry has 30 years experience in the accounts industry and has done numerous voluntary work for a children's charity for over 10 years. Kerry has made a fantastic start here at Bluebird Care!
