We are Finalists in Three Categories
At the Shropshire Partners in Care Awards!
We have been named a finalist in the Domiciliary Carer of the Year award with care supervisor Kirsty Old, the Dementia Carer of the Year category, with carer Hope Fox and Care Business of the Year for over 50 employees.
Kirsty has progressed through the ranks at Bluebird Care on merit and is highly respected by staff and customers.
Director of Ian Barnes said of Kirsty: "She has been involved over a long time with a customer who was progressively getting more poorly as he got older.
Recently he has been in hospital for respite care and Kirsty visited him in her own time to make sure that he was not distressed and to explain to the hospital staff just how he liked things. His daughter was distressed at this time and Kirsty also provided much-needed emotional support to her.
Now that Kirsty is a supervisor, she has quickly developed a reputation for turning around very difficult care situations and is now a “must have” supervisor for several social workers!"
Mr Barnes is equally pleased that carer Hope has been shortlisted. He said:
When Hope first started with us she had to deal with a lady who had dementia as one of her very first customers.
Both we, as an organisation, and the family were very impressed with how she handled this situation and it demonstrated Hope’s natural ability and attitude. Hope recognised what was going on and acted accordingly – as she always does."
The company is also "delighted" to have been shortlisted in the Care Business of the Year category.
Care Business of the Year in Shropshire

Their mantra is ‘nothing is too much trouble,’ and in all areas of the business they promote a ‘can do' attitude!
Mr Barnes said: "We are passionate about delivering a consistently high standard of care all the time, listening to our customers and our staff and working towards creating an environment where the lives and outcomes of customers are enriched.
We aim to operate in an open and professional manner in all we do and respond quickly to changing circumstances."
Buebird Care will find out if it has scooped any winners when the awards are held on Friday 28th March at the ceremony at The Lord Hill Hotel.
