At a special afternoon tea hosted at Fortnum and Mason in London, all 18 regional finalists took part in a panel interview, pitting themselves against six regional winners chosen from thousands of care staff at more than 200 Bluebird Care offices across the UK.

The judges included Mike Padgham, Chairman of the United Kingdom Homecare Association; Colin Angel, Policy Director of the United Kingdom Homecare Association; and David Brindle, Public Services Editor at The Guardian.

Care assistant Joyce Morton of Bluebird Care North East Lincolnshire, was named Carer of the Year.

I am feeling shell shocked and on top of the world! I feel so proud and happy to be a part of the Bluebird Care team, with so much support.
Customer care manager Katy Cresswell of Bluebird Care Slough, South Bucks & South Wycombe, was named Team Member of the Year.

It felt amazing to be recognised for all the hard work myself and my team have done.  Without the support of my colleagues I wouldn’t have achieved all that I have over the last few years.

Working for Bluebird Care has given me the opportunity to fulfil my life’s ambition of being able to help people and really make a difference to them and their families.
Registered manager, Valerie Holland of Bluebird Care Eastbourne, was named Registered Manager of the Year.

Winning the Registered Manager of the Year has made me feel proud, humbled and emotional for doing a job which is more of a way of life than a job.
All three winners were recognised for the outstanding, and often extraordinary, contribution that they have made over the past year in improving the lives of Bluebird Care customers.
