Charmaine Grech

Owner/Director

Bluebird Care Medway is owned and managed by the Director Charmaine Grech.

I finished my training as an Occupational Therapist in 1993. I was awarded a scholarship in 1996 by the British Association of Occupational Therapists and continued to pursue my studies to obtain a Bachelor of Philosophy in Occupational Therapy by 1998. I have since had varied experience in the field of physical and mental disability, both in the UK and overseas. My experience in rehabilitation is vast to include trauma and orthopedics, neurology (such as stroke rehabilitation), paediatrics, general medicine and surgery, spinal injuries and terminal care. Throughout my career I have consistently updated my skills in my key clinical areas in order to maintain my continuous professional development. Later on in my career I decided to branch off in medico legal consultancy and I became an expert witness where I prepare reports that analyse and quantify past, present and future care for complex care cases. I have undergone formal training as an expert witness and provide expert evidence for the court. Throughout my career I worked in various healthcare settings, NHS and independent. I have always aspired to run my own domiciliary care agency to be able to bring together my experience and passion in care of the elderly. Bluebird Care provides high quality care at home and I am very privileged to be part of the network. I conquer with their principle of “Good old fashioned service” and I will ensure to continue to provide this high quality care to all our customers. I like to think of our customers as my very own parents or relatives. Only this way can I provide uncompromised, best quality care.”

Congratulations to Lorraine who, as of 5th February 2017, has been promoted to Deputy Head of Care and Support and further congratulations to Lorraine from May 2019 when she was promoted again to Head of Care and Support.

Christine Wilson

Finance Manager

I joined Bluebird Care in the February of 2019 but was also working as a teaching assistant supporting special educational needs children and a short time later, I became a mentor and an on-call assistant. I was a Deputy Nursery manager for a Sure start centre in Parkwood, Maidstone and I was the designated Safeguarding Lead, so my role would involve going to child protection meetings and working with all agencies.

During the Covid times, I joined the office on a temporary basis in July 2020 but by Oct 2020 I was offered a permanent position 3 days a week as the customer support supervisor. By January 2021, I was offered a full-time position and I loved this part of my role.

I had the opportunity to work with the Swale office as a support of Deputy Head of Care until December 21. IN January 2022 I moved my position and become the financial assistant to the financial controller. In the past I used to do payroll and was a personal assistant. I have a gained a lot of knowledge in most roles now within the company and am still enjoying my job very much.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, particularly my Granddaughter, we go swimming and for days out,  I like walking, doing quizzes and like true life crimes and documentaries.
