    The New Year Honours list was announced at the end of December 2011 and we are pleased to announce that Jeff Levick, Chairman of Hampshire Cricket Board, was awarded an MBE for more than 50 years’ service to grass-roots cricket in the county and, as Head of the ECB’s Regional Disability Cricket Development Forum for the South and West, has been instrumental in developing disability cricket in the Hampshire region.

History

Paul started Bluebird Care with his wife Lisa Tarsey in 2004.  Hampshire based Bluebird Care, with offices across the UK and Ireland, is the UK’s fastest growing care at home business.  We now have over 120 franchise offices across the UK and Ireland.

Providing care to the whole community

Bluebird Care provides a range of care at home services, supporting older people, those with learning or physical disabilities as well as children and their families. Care can range from care visits of fifteen or thirty minutes through to live in care.

 

The story of Bluebird Care

2004

September: Bluebird Care is born in an office above an accountants in Lavant Street, Petersfield in Hampshire. 

 

2006

June: The Bluebird Care franchise opportunity is launched.

October: Sue Milakovic, our first Bluebird Care Franchise Owner, signs her agreement at the National Franchise exhibition at the NEC. 

November: Bluebird Care holds its first Franchise training course near Petersfield for three Franchise Owners from Warrington, Harrow and Tamworth & Lichfield.

 

2007

April: Opening of the first Bluebird Care office outside of Petersfield – Bluebird Care (Harrow). Our network has launched. This is quickly followed by our second office in Cannock – Bluebird Care (Mid Staffs).

May: A master franchise agreement is signed for the Republic of Ireland, giving Bluebird Care international presence! Bluebird Care holds its first Franchise Owner conference in Oxford, at which we announce our first Franchise of the Year award – presented to Bluebird Care (Mid Staffs).

December: By the end of 2007 the Bluebird Care network has grown to 18 offices and the trading offices deliver 6500 care visits in December.

 

2008

January: We open our first office in Scotland - in Edinburgh.

February: We outgrow our Lavant Street office and move to new offices in Charles Street, Petersfield.

May: Bluebird Care is featured on BBC2 Working lunch.

July: Our second Republic of Ireland office opens.

2008 team conferenceOctober: We hold our second Bluebird Care conference in Stratford The Franchise of the Year award is won by the Bluebird Care team in Tamworth.

December: Our first Northern Ireland office opens in Coleraine. By the end of 2008 the Bluebird Care franchise network has grown to 38 offices across the UK and we deliver 28,000 care visits to customers in December.

May: Our team in Edinburgh win ‘Scottish Newcomer of the Year’ award at the Scottish Care awards. Our first office in Wales opens in Cardiff.

July: Bluebird Care now delivers 40,000 monthly care visits across the UK.

October: We hold our third conference. The Franchise of the Year award is won by our team in West Berkshire.

December: We now have 65 offices across the UK & Republic of Ireland, delivering 55,000 monthly care visits.

 

 

 

2010

May: Our tenth office opens in the Republic of Ireland.

June: Bluebird Care is a finalist in the British Franchise Association Franchise of the Year.

July: The UK Bluebird Care network is now delivering 108,000 monthly care visits October We hold our fourth conference. Our Franchise of the Year award is presented to the team in Stafford.

November: We reach the magical number of 100 Bluebird Care franchised offices, when our office in Brighton and Hove opens.

December: Bluebird Care now delivers 136,000 monthly care visits, and has delivered more than 1.3 million visits during the Year.

 

2011

January: The New Year gets off to a flying start with Bluebird Care (Ipswich) joining the network on the first working day back.

April: Our successful team in Chichester purchase their third franchise territory.

August: Our new PR Manager joins the business, joining a Management team which provides PR, IT, training and operational support to all the offices across the UK.

October: Bluebird Care holds its fifth conference, with the Franchise of the Year award presented to the team in Edinburgh. End of 2011 The UK Bluebird Care network of 125 franchised offices now is delivering over 210,000 care visits each month. The brand is now providing nearly £40m of care each year in the UK alone.
