Our sister office - Bluebird Care (East Devon) covers Lymptsone, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Sidmouth, Seaton, Axminster and their surrounding villages.

What we do

We are part of the successful Bluebird Care network which has over 150 offices in the UK and Ireland. The Bluebird Care (Exeter) office is owned and operated by William and Sara Flint. We are assisted in the day to day management of the service by our Care Manager, Supervisor and Coordinator. Between us we have over 40 years of working in health and social care services in managerial and clinical roles.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to maintain their independence and be able to remain in their own homes. We believe in ‘Good old fashioned service’. Our "can do" attitude is built around a passion for high quality care and an unprecedented level of service. Working with you and your family or carer we are committed to creating a care plan that meets your needs and gives you the best opportunity to live in the comfort of your own home.

    We asked 80 customers that receive our social care services to respond and received 42 responses.

    Over 95% of our customers were very satisfied with our services!

    We are very focussed on the quality of the services we provide to our customers and so to get their feedback was very rewarding.  When asked the question, “How has Bluebird Care improved your life” comments included:

    Nothing could improve my care, I am very happy.”

     

    I was anxious about care workers coming to me every day but I am very pleased with them.”

     

    It boosted mums confidence knowing someone is there when she is washing and checking she takes her medication.”

     

    I can cope better now and feel more independent.”

     

    Taking care of the ironing releases me from a job I found almost impossible.”



     I enjoy the company, it's nice knowing someone is coming.”

     

    It has freed up time so we can have more time together.”

  • Bluebird Care (Exeter) has recently collated the results of its latest biannual customer survey

    Some of the key headlines were as follows:

    Of customers surveyed

    100%  - said our staff were polite and treated the customer respectfully

    98% - said our staff undertook tasks properly and professionally

    96% - were satisfied with the overall level of service (those customers who were not entirely statifed have been met in person by our Care Manager to explore their feedback further, their issues have been satisfactorily resolved without further to do)

    Director William Flint said,

    These results are very pleasing.  I whole heartedly trust our staff to deliver a very high level of service which this survey bears out.”

    Care Manager, Claire Wreford said,

    I am very proud of my team of dedicated and caring staff.  There is always more we could do and we will use the feedback from the survey to continue to develop our services.”

  • Bluebird Care (Exeter) are delighted to announce the successful result of their recent, unannounced, inspection by the Care regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

    The team are very proud of their 5/5 commendation.

    Award Winning Home Care and Live IN care provider, Bluebird Care (Exeter) have now undergone two routing, unannounced, inspections by CQC.  They are rigorous and challenging events which involve a member of CQC’s inspection team arriving at the offices without notice, they then observe how the office is organised and how customers are handled as well as the records we keep and the way in which we implement our policies.

    Both inspections have been passed with full marks – 5/5!  Our full report can be read here.

    Director, William Flint said,

    To achieve 5 / 5 is our minimum expected standard but an achievement in itself - one that is entirely to the credit of our fantastic team.”

    Care Manager, Claire Wreford said,

    This result is a very pleasing validation of the hard work and commitment shown by our team in delivering the highest possible standard of care to our customers.  Moreover I am very pleased that have been shown to remain consistently high across both our inspections.”

  • Bluebird Care Wins National Award

    Local Care Provider Bluebird Care “Finalists” Accolade in Franchise of the Year Award 2012

    William and Sara Flint, Directors of the (East Devon) and (Exeter) office of leading care at home provider Bluebird Care, have been announced as “Finalists” in the National Bluebird Care Franchise of the Year Award 2012. There were 10 Finalist including one eventual winner taken from over 160 offices nationwide

    The Franchise of the Year Award is presented to the Care team that has demonstrated strong business growth, operational management  and most importantly high standards of care service provision.  An excellent customer-focussed approach to the business was also a vital component in the assessment. 

    Speaking of the announcement, Paul Tarsey, Managing Director of Bluebird Care said,

    Bluebird Care have been hugely proud of Will and Sara, since they joined the network in March 2011.  Bluebird Care (East Devon) and (Exeter) has shown significant growth, which is a result of Will and Sara’s hard work and dedication to providing the best quality of care at home possible.”

    William Flint said,

    It has been a fantastic year! We have opened our new office covering East Devon, extended in to Live In Care or 24 hour Care and recruited a great team of staff to maintain the quality of our services.  Our focus is naturally on our local feedback which continues to be excellent, however, to achieve this award as well is very rewarding.”

  • We are delighted to announce a very successful CQC inspection for Bluebird Care (Exeter) and that we are fully compliant with every standard assessed.

    Arriving unannounced our inspector interviewed Claire Wreford, Care Manager, and William Flint, Director, for nearly 6 hours.

    She then met with 4 customers in person.  In addition, an ‘Expert by Experience’ employed by CQC, spoke to 15 further customers and 3 staff, all chosen at random. 

    In the report various customers and staff members are quoted, one of the most pleasing remarks being “the Queen of England could not ask for better care” – very apt in this Jubilee Year!!  To read the report, please follow this link.

  • Bluebird Care Exeter was awarded the position of 'Finalist' as one of three companies nominated in the Exeter Business Awards 2012 for 'Excellence in Customer Care'.

    The glittering awards night took place at Exeter Chiefs Rugby Ground, Sandy Park, and was attended by over 300 local and regional businesses.

  • Bluebird Care Exeter and Exmouth announced as the winner of the company’s coveted Newcomer of the Year 2011 award

    William and his wife Sara received the award at a glittering gala dinner and awards ceremony attended by over 100 Bluebird Care Franchise Owners.

    The Newcomer of the Year award is presented to the team that has demonstrated strong business growth, generating consistent results and momentum in marketing, operations and importantly high standards of care service provision.  Excellent management skills and a customer-focused approach to the business were also vital components in the assessment.

    William and Sara launched their Bluebird Care business in March 2011 and now have over 60 customers and 20 staff. 

    Speaking of the announcement, Paul Tarsey, Managing Director of Bluebird Care said, ‘This is our fifth annual conference and we have seen the numbers of Franchise Owners increase significantly year on year.  I’m delighted to present this award to William, Sara and their team.  It is a great tribute to the work of the Bluebird Care team in Exeter and Exmouth and their commitment to a quality care service’.
