New Accreditation for End of Life Care

We have achieved accreditation in Six Steps to End of Life Care

We are very proud to report that on 25th February at a celebratory lunch at St John’s Hospice and hosted by its Chief Executive and the Deputy Mayor, we were formally accredited in the North West Palliative Care Programme, known as “Six Steps to Good End of Life Care”.  Registered Manager Sandra Macraild, Director Claire Evans, Coordinator Emma Walton and senior care assistant Christy Dargue attended the lunch to represent our organization.

This accreditation and all the hard work that has gone into it enables our care workers to deliver specialist care to people in the local community who are at this crucial and unique time in their lives.  Having the right care and support at one’s end-of-life stage can make a hugely positive difference to the experience of both the dying person and their loved ones.

The Six Steps programme lasted for 6 months and involved regular classroom training sessions, specialist briefings and internal policy development.  A special “well done” to Sandra Macraild and staff member Tyla Reynolds who attended the programme and completed all the task work for us.

Our sincere thanks go to Terri and the Hospice for providing us with the invaluable training.
